Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?  
  
It's easy to move around in a lightweight double pushchair, particularly if you have children of different age groups. They're generally easy to fold, steer, and carry up and down the stairs.

The majority of lightweight double pushchairs that we tested are side-by-side designs and they're generally best for children who can sit up unassisted, as these models tend to lack car seat integration. However there are some exceptions. Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and the Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand double running stroller are both excellent options that offer recline that can be adjusted in both seats, a wide canopy, and padded five-point harnesses. They are also easy to move around despite their larger footprint. They are perfect for parents who fret about getting through doors.  
  
The Cybex Duet is a little different due to its clever frame that expands widthways to add another seat, which makes it lighter than most other side-by-side pushchairs on the market. It is able to fit through doors of standard size and is easy to maneuver in public transport. It's also a jogger, which is a great feature if you want to use it with an infant carrier or car seat. Side-by-side lightweight double pushchairs - have a peek at this site - aren't 100% foolproof, howeverIf your children are the same age or stage, they might be fighting over who gets to ride in which seat. If they're at different heights it could be that a tandem design might be more suitable for them since it lets them confront each other.  
  
Tandem  
  
While side-by-side models are more appropriate for siblings who are the same age, tandem lightweight double pushchairs offer their own perks. They can accommodate a larger car seat, and some have reversible seats or an extra carrycot that is located in the middle. They are bigger and easy to get into and out of. However, their baskets tend to be smaller than the ones found on single buggies. Many feature larger canopies as well as peekaboo windows, and even padding for the leg cushions.

Tandem lightweight double pushchairs will typically make tighter turns than side-byside models, but they can be more difficult to drive on uneven surfaces and curbs. They can also be slower to accelerate and heavier to move. This can put strain on your back.  
  
Another option is a convertible double buggy, which is initially one-person, but you can add adapters that turn it into a double. These can include the option of a second seat or carrycot on the front, or the children can sit side-by-side. Some have the option of including a buggyboard that assists an older child to keep up with younger siblings or brothers.

Our test panel found that the seats to be comfortable for toddlers, with good headrests and lumbar support. There are a variety of options to recline the seats with the front seat adjustable in different positions and the back seat having an option to recline.  
  
The main drawback to this type of buggy is that it is generally larger overall than doubles that are side-by-side which makes it more difficult to maneuver through doorways, and can be difficult to maneuver around kerbs. The suspension and wheels of these models are generally good at coping with pavements. They're also lighter than many side-bysides and, therefore, you can have plenty of storage. It's important to remember that these strollers aren't as good at navigating narrow aisles in supermarkets and aren't able to cope with a lot of shopping. Even though it's easier to turn the stroller around on a narrow curved path, this can be a hassle. Some are easier to turn than other models, like the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double or Baby Trend Sit N' Stand Double.  
  
Convertible  
  
The best thing about convertible double pushchairs is that they are able to adapt to the changing family requirements. They often start out as single buggies, but include adapters to add a second seat, a carrycot or (in certain instances) the car seat to the frame. Some can be converted to a single buggie when your child's older age begins to walk or prefers to ride a buggyboard.

It has a distinctive steering handlebar, front and rear suspensions to smooth rough terrain, a compact fold that can be folded up with straps for easy transport and seven-inch front wheels with swivel locks and 10 inches back wheels with suspensions for more comfortable riding. The only downside is that you will need to purchase an additional car seat or baby carrier.  
  
This multi-functional tandem is a top pick among our home testers for its maneuverability and large shopping basket that is accessible with both seats facing the parent. It is a breeze to move around due to its low weight (about the weight of a few single pushchairs). Many users praise the clever method of attaching the second seat or riding board in the back. Parents also loved the fact that it can accommodate infant carriers and car seats from various brands. This includes a few that aren't typically compatible with other double buggies.
